Hope for Single Mothers with Disability (HSMD Hopes) is proud to celebrate another remarkable achievement by our Executive Director and Co-Founder, Winnie Tumwine, who has been recognized as the Advocate for Gender Equality at the Women in Leadership Summit (WILS Africa) 2026 in Rwanda.
This prestigious award recognizes Winnie’s outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and the empowerment of women and girls, particularly single mothers and women with disabilities.
Through her leadership at HSMD Hopes, Winnie has championed initiatives that promote equal opportunities, access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), economic empowerment, education, and community inclusion. Her work continues to challenge stigma, influence policy, and create pathways for women and girls with disabilities to thrive.
